Now Five Eggs, April 22, 2022

Mrs. Bluebird caught me off guard this morning. She’s been sitting in the box since about 6:00 am, with Mr. Bluebird bringing her snacks a couple of times. I’d assumed she’d started incubating and even got a video up on YouTube saying that. Just as the video finished uploading, she left the box and I could see she’d laid a fifth egg.

Bluebirds can lay up to seven eggs in a clutch, we’ll have to keep watching to see if she’s done.

You can follow me on Instagram these days, https://www.instagram.com/uppervalleyphotos/.

We’re watching eastern bluebirds in a nesting box with a camera installed to let us watch the birds without disturbing them.
